2025 Q4 Neighborhood Consortium Meeting

The 2020 Q4 Consortium on Nov 5th outlined a number of amazing resources for our city!

  • This Wednesday, November 12th from 6-8PM is the quarterly Meet The Mayor at the Pinhook Park Community Center (2801 Riverside Dr., South Bend, IN, 46616). The Mayor along with representation from his various departments (think: planning committee) will be in attendance to field questions and concerns from citizens. I think it would behoove us to get a small group to go. This will show our continued commitment to the safe expansion of our neighborhood and work to raise further awareness to the infrastructure concerns we've already brought before the Common Council regarding Phase V development.

  • SBPD reminded NA leadership that South Bend does have a new program called Sync South Bend which allows residents and businesses to register their public-facing security cameras with the South Bend Police Department. This program helps police locate cameras to aid in investigations, but it does not give the SBPD access to live video feeds. Instead, if a registered camera is near a crime scene, police can contact the owner via email or phone to request relevant footage. You can register your cameras HERE.

  • The city of South Bend is celebrating our 160th Birthday! Yay! The city is putting together a digital time capsule. You can submit photos or recordings of our neighborhood, events, favorite local food spots and shops. They will also be accepting digital creations/illustrations/paintings reflecting South Bend and letters/poems/thoughts about life in South Bend. The deadline is December 15th. If you would like to make a submission, please email it to timecapsule@southbendin.gov

  • The South Bend Animal Resource Center presented on various topics including Licensing, Vaccinations, Tethering and MicroChipping. One particularly helpful note: many microchip companies have gone out of business in recent years. They recommend checking to ensure that your pet’s microchip is still licensed/registered with an active company. In addition, if you do not have your pet chipped, they provide the service. Microchips used by SBARC are internationally recognized for anyone that travels with their pets.
